Here at Wishlist HQ we love the androgyny trend which is hot on both catwalks and the High Street right now. Brogues, city shorts and boyfriend blazers… we simply cannot get enough. However, being girly girls, we do like to mix it up and add a feminine touch to the overall Borrowed From The Boys look. You can add anything you like but we find that a cute hair clip, a sexy pair of heels or a pretty handbag work well, accentuating the boyish trend with one girly accessory works a treat.
Ted Baker Dalita Flannel Suit Blazer – £199
Ted Baker Contrast Stitch T-Shirt – £109
French Connection Sophia Twill City Shorts – £47
Ted Baker Rozary Unlined Leather Bag – £89

Firetrap is a clothing brand which we really admire – stylish without conforming to current trends and creatively unconventional. Monochrome features heavily in the AW11 collection and here are some of our favourites pieces which would add an urban, edgy coolness to any outfit.
This twisted back monochrome print dress is perfect throughout the year. Wear with bare legs and wedges during the summer, or with a pair of tights and boots for a glamorous day to night look during the colder months.
Twisted Print Dress – £72.50
A leather jacket is a wardrobe staple which no fashionista should be without. Giving a rock edge to the most feminine of ensembles and looks equally as good over a dress or a T-shirt and jeans. This biker style is timeless – an investment piece which will last for many years to come.
Leather Biker Jacket – £215
This cool, casual slouchy grey hoody is a festival essential and is helping towards a very worthy cause. Designed in collaboration with the Teenage Cancer Trust, all proceeds go to this fantastic charity making it the number one hoody to be seen in this season.
This detailed print monochrome vest top can be styled in numerous ways depending on the occasion. Wear over cut off denims or a pair of jeans for laid back cool or for a night on the town layer over a pair of wet look leggings. Or why not tuck in to a pair of paper bag shorts or a puff ball skirt… another staple item for the season.
For ladies who prefer a T-shirt rather than a vest top, this is a fantastic alternative to the top above.
Blondie Orbital T-Shirt – £25
Another versatile piece which can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion is this cute black skirt. If you’re going straight from the office to drinks after work, a change of shoes and a few accessories is all that’s required to give you a whole new look.
Skip Skirt – £60
These military-look black boots are a much cooler choice of footwear than wellies if you’re heading to a festival this summer. They are hard wearing and sturdy and would look great with a pair of denim shorts, or a pair of skinny jeans tucked inside them or would toughen up look if worn with a feminine skirt or dress.
Firetrap Rugged Boots – £90
Whatever your usual style, why not take some inspiration from the Firetrap collection and add a splash of laid back sexiness with a funky urban edge to your wardrobe this season.

Colour blocking is a huge trend this season and we love it! What easier way to cheer up yourself and everyone else around you than injecting some serious colour into your outfit. The easiest way to wear this bold trend without going the whole hog (remember the explosion of colour in Cheryl Cole’s outfit for the first X Factor audition?) is to experiment with accessories and we just love colour block shoes as you could brighten up the dullest outfit or update the oldest ensemble in an instant. These are perfect for holidays, summer parties and events or the peep toe courts would even work fabulously with the office wardrobe too.

We love playsuits, they are so cute and just as good for daywear or a night out. Playsuits are an essential part of the summer wardrobe, lightweight (therefore perfect for taking on holiday), versatile and they’re right on trend. This gorgeous one shoulder floral playsuit as seen in Closer magazine was picked up by pop princess Eliza Doolittle on a recent shopping trip and is currently still available for the bargain price of £25!
It says in Closer magazine: Our style insiders have let slip that pop starlet picked up this pretty playsuit on a recent shopping spree. We’re sure the singer will style it up with her signature hi-tops, but we reckon it’d look fab with some jewelled sandals instead.
