Festival Wellies
April 16, 2011
With Coachella taking place this weekend in California, festival season has officially begun! There are many must-have’s to see you through a weekend at a festival but wet wipes, dry shampoo and shewee aside, a good pair of wellies is the absolute essential. Here are our favourite wellington boots for festivals in 2011.

Adorned by celebrities including Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Nicole Richie and Pixie Lott to name but a few, Hunter wellies are the number 1 choice of footwear for festival goers. Oversized Sunglasses
April 11, 2011
When shopping for sunglasses we follow 2 simple rules, no matter what the year or current trends:
- 1) Don’t spend over £20 on a pair (because we’re always losing or breaking them and can never be bothered to use the protective pouch past day 3 of owning them).
2) The bigger the better (large enough to cover the majority of our face when we’ve had a little too much sun or we haven’t done our make up).
With these rules in mind, these are the 3 pairs on the top of our sunglasses wishlist this season:
Lipsy Logo Bow Sunglasses – We adore the super cute silver bows on the side of these sunglasses and the glimpse of pink on the inner arms – girly and gorgeous and perfect to wear with feminine florals or a mini playsuit.

Bow Detail Lipsy Sunglasses – £18
Silver Aviators – Ah, the Aviators, how we love thee! These are our festival sunglasses of choice and look great with a pair of distressed turn up denim shorts, a rock print cut off vest top and a pair of gladiators.
Pixie Metal Aviator Sunglasses – £14
Tortoiseshell Wrap Sunglasses – Timeless, glamorous and sexy. These sunnies look best teamed with a maxi dress, chunky gold jewellery and a pair of wedges whilst sitting in a beer garden (or better still a beach bar!) on a long summer’s evening.

M:UK Classic Wrap Sunglasses – £15
If you are a big follower of sunglasses fashion, the current big trend for shades is retro-chic and here are just a few of the styles that are really trendy for SS11:
| Cats Eye Sunglasses | 70s Round Sunglasses | Printed Wayfarer Sunglasses |

| Cat eye sunglasses - £18 | 70s style sunglasses – £18 | Ditsy Print Wayfarer Sunglasses – £10 |
Now that’s the sunglasses sorted, all we need now is the sun!…

Festival Fashion
August 26, 2010
Festival season is upon us, and with Leeds and Reading Festivals happening this weekend, here is Girls Wishlist’s guide to festival fashion essentials.
Festival Footwear

![]() |
![]() |
| Short Floral Wellies – £14 | Wedge Wellies – £35 | Metallic Gladiators – £14 |
With the unpredictable British weather wellies are a festival essential, but a pair of gladiators are also fantastic if there’s not a rain cloud or mud field in sight!
Festival Accessories
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
| Paisley Scarf – £10 | Straw Trilby – £15 | Fringed Suede Bag – £25 |
Not only do these accessories look great at a festival but they’re functional too. A scarf will keep you warm, a hat will cover up a whole array of bad-hair-day sins after 3 days without a shower, and a roomy bag is required to keep hold of all of your valuables (and smuggle your drinks into the arena)!
Keeping Warm at Festivals

![]() |
| Striped Hoody – £19.99 | Pink Furry Gilet – £38 | Biker Jacket – £34.99 |
Standing in a British field all day can get rather chilly at festivals so make sure you go prepared with some layering pieces to keep you warm.
Festival Basics
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
| Denim Shorts – £28 | Leggings – £15 | Printed T-Shirt – £32 |
A printed T-shirt, denim shorts and a pair of leggings can be mixed and matched to form your festival capsual wardrobe. Great for living out of a tent as they don’t take up too much space either.
Dressing Up at Festivals
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
| Floral Print Dress – £25 | Black Playsuit – £25 | Floral Jumpsuit – £26 |
Fashion is almost as important as the music at festivals, so don’t forget to take your favourite summer dress or playsuit so that you can at least make an effort and look great in the photos on day 1!
Festival Jewellery

| Bangle Stack – £14 | Flower Corsage Necklace – £8 | Feather & Leaf Earrings – £9 |
Stand out from the festival crowds with some beautiful jewellery, it can dress up and give a fashion edge to even the plainest outfit.
